Where did you grow up?

I grew up locally in Darnhall, Winsford. The Bear’s Paw is close to home for me, so is an ideal base for staying in touch with family and friends.


When did you start working in the hospitality industry and why?

I have been in the industry since leaving secondary school, I started working in the hospitality trade as I have a very outgoing personality and love meeting new people.


What do you enjoy most about working in the hospitality industry?

I thrive when working under pressure in a busy environment. I love speaking to different people and forming new friends on a daily basis; I enjoy connecting with my customers and seeing them return time after time. I love to make my customers feel like they are number one and most importantly to see them enjoying themselves!


What has been the highlight of your career so far?

Whilst working within hotels and gastro pubs, I have learnt a lot of different things, attended some amazing functions and have even met celebrities! But I have to say, coming to The Bear’s Paw has been one of the best moves I have ever made. The Nelson Hotel’s family are a great company to work for, as well as being friendly and close to home! All of my customers have been fantastic and even my regulars from other pubs have been coming to visit me.


If you could have any job in the world, what would it be and why?

My dream job would to be to open my own place abroad and become as successful as the Nelson Hotels group!


What has been your favourite meal of all time?

I’ve had the opportunity to eat in many different places due to working in the industry. My favourite local restaurant in Cheshire has to be Gusto; I also love a place in the Lake District called The Langdale Hotel and Spa. If I had to choose a favourite dish, it would have to be anything with duck!


What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love eating out with friends, walking my dogs, keeping fit at the gym and spending time with my godchildren.


If you could invite any celebrity to dine at the Bear’s Paw, who would it be and what dishes would you recommend?

It would have to be either Simon Cowell or Sir Alex Ferguson, as both these men seem hard to please and I love a challenge! To get a ‘Yes I enjoyed my stay!’ from either of them would be the icing on the cake for me. I would recommend to them either the Steak Stone or the Pan-fried Sea Trout!
